Company History

The Warrell Corporation began as Pennsylvania Dutch Candies in 1965. A specialty candy manufacturer, distributor, and marketer, the company sold its products to the specialty gift trade across the country. Today, Pennsylvania Dutch Candies operates as a unit of The Warrell Corporation and continues to supply more than 4,000 retail accounts across the United States with over 1,000 specialty candy and snack items.

The company diversified into bigger scale manufacturing with the acquisition of Katharine Beecher Candies in 1974 and Melster Candies in 1982.

The company combined its two Pennsylvania based operations into a 200,000 square foot modern plant in May 2000.

Today, The Warrell Corporation’s central strategic objective is to develop long-term contract manufacturing partnerships with the world’s top food companies. Our business model, management focus and experience are based upon this principle. Family owned since 1965, significant capital investment has been made year-after-year to expand and improve our Central Pennsylvania facility. A successful transition to the second generation of ownership has been made. The management of the company is a mix of family management and well respected outside industry executives. A strong Board of Directors with well-qualified outside directors secures our future.
